OPENING FOR SENIOR PASTOR

This mission statement is the heart of Mountain View Baptist Church (MVBC) and all of its members. Our church is seeking a new Senior Pastor who shares this passion and fervor for our Lord, Jesus Christ. Mountain View Baptist Church is a Bible-based church associated with the Southern Baptist Convention and was established in 1987 by believers who wanted to expand God’s kingdom and glory in northwest Tucson.

As a church of 200+ members, we have a strong commitment to the SBC’s Baptist Faith and Message and the Cooperative Program. We support local and world-wide outreach programs including both the North American and the International Mission boards. As a prospective Senior Pastor, we would like for you to share the same commitment to these ideals. 

MVBC is excited to meet the Senior Pastor God has chosen to join our team of Pastors, Deacons, lay leaders, and staff in order to enrich our congregation with strong biblical teaching and expand the Kingdom of God.  As the Senior Pastor, you will work alongside and supervise the aforementioned to further the church's overall vision.

As senior pastor, you will be expected to: 

​

• Lead the church to fulfill its mission statement: “Building Lives committed to Jesus.”

• Communicate biblical truths in weekly sermons.

• Equip, train, and motivate church members to deepen their own personal relationship with Christ and to engage with various church and outreach ministries

• Work alongside the other pastor(s), church staff, deacons, and other lay leaders; to mentor and supervise church staff

• Serve as an encouragement and shepherd to the congregation; be approachable, empathetic, and responsive to their needs.

• Provide leadership in the planning and executing of church ministries, such as Sunday School, Small Groups, AWANA, and Mission activities.

• Guide, coordinate, and plan worship services alongside the staff

• Continue to support Global and Local mission projects

• Help our multi-generational church grow as we seek to reach our community for Christ

• Officiate baptisms, the Lord’s Supper, weddings and funerals

We are looking for a candidate with the following credentials:

• Formal Seminary training

• 5+ years experience as a Pastor

• Experienced in working with a team of multiple pastors.
