Explore the ministry opportunities for your children at Mountain View.
**NEW** Kid's IN-PERSON meetings will resume on October 4.
The 9-10am hour will be available to all ages.
The 10:30-11:30am hour, only babies-3rd grade will be available.
There will be no AWANA during the 2020 calendar year. As 2021 approaches we will revisit our plans for an abbreviated AWANA year that will finish out the 20-21 school year.
Worship will resume in-person services on Sept 6. However, those services will be "family style" and there will not be any kids or youth ministries available during the Sunday morning worship.
Complete Sunday School lessons are posted each week on Ministry Grid. If you would like to receive notifications when they are posted, contact Leigh Elkins at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Kids Ministry at Mountain View
At Mountain View Baptist Church, our kids (infant through 6th grade) experience safe, age-appropriate environments where they learn about Jesus in a creative and relevant way.
We would love to see you and your family visit Mountain View Kids Ministry.
Your first visit
Here's what to expect when visiting Mountain View Kids Ministry for the first time:
First, if you have planned a visit with us then we will show you around to the various areas of interest you have. If you would like you to plan a visit you can do so by clicking here. When you come, will meet your family, check your child into our system, and then one of our volunteers will lead your child to their age-appropriate room.
Upon checking in for the first time, we will ask for the following personal information (NOTE: We value your privacy and will not share this information with anyone):
Any special instructions (allergies, special needs) for your children
How check-in works
Before Service: You can check-in your child at the counter found in our multipurpose building (there is a large banner that says Children's Ministry). After finding your child’s name in the database, you and your child will be given matching name tags that are exclusive to your family and your visit. Your child will need to wear the name tag portion while you hold on to the matching tag. A kid's ministry volunteer will escort your child into their age appropriate classroom.
After Service: After the worship hour is complete, you will return to the kid's counter and your child will be released to you.
During Service: In the event that we need to contact you during worship, we will contact you via call or text. We ask that you exit the worship center immediately and head to the kid's counter where you will be directed to your child's classroom. In the event, we cannot reach you via call or text, one of our volunteers will personally seek you out in the worship service.
Parent's Viewing Room
Mountain View offers childcare during both the 9:00am and 10:30am worship for infants. If you and your family are worshiping with your infant and you feel the need to have a quieter and more secluded area (live music can be loud), then you can move over to the atrium of our multipurpose building. Inside, we stream a live broadcast of the worship celebration to the TVs and projector in that room at a quieter volume. There are many chairs and tables to sit at.
Meet our Kids Director
Leigh Elkins joined the Mountain View leadership team in 2014 as the Director of Kids Ministry. Leigh is married with two kids and has been in ministry for most of her life.
