KIDS' MINISTRY DIRECTOR

Job Overview

The Kids’ Ministry Director is the department head of the kids’ ministry at Mountain View. They will work closely with volunteers and parents to nurture and promote a welcoming, friendly, fun, Biblically-sound and gospel-rich environment for infants through grade six. The Kid’s Director should be a servant leader who loves kids and is committed to evangelizing and discipling kids, equipping families and raising up other servant leaders to make disciples of Jesus Christ.

Ministry Responsibilities 

  • Recruit, train, serve, supervise, and celebrate volunteers for weekly ministry and annual kid’s events. 

  • Select and order age-appropriate curriculum and ensure the kids’ ministry has the necessary supplies for all relevant activities (crafts, decorations, parties, etc.). 

  • Work cooperatively with all staff and ministry leaders to promote unity and cohesion that aligns with Mountain View’s overall vision and plans. Attend staff meetings. Seek ways that the kid’s ministry can work in cohesion with larger church events and series.  

  • Lead and ensure volunteer staffing for the 9:00am Sunday school and 10:30am Sunday worship hours.  

  • Administrate and lead annual events such as a kids’ Easter experience, Christmas parties, summer camp, VBS and more.  

  • Work as the liaison between the AWANA ministry and staff by meeting the needs of club directors and AWANA commander. Attend weekly AWANA meetings and supervise check in/out. 

  • Create a safe, fun, engaging, grace-filled and loving culture for kids and volunteers. 

Qualifications 

 

  • Education level - High School Diploma. There are opportunities for further professional growth through conferences, association and statewide training, etc. 

  • Experience - at least two years of working with kids in either a volunteer or professional capacity. 

  • Specific skills - teaching; administration; basic computer skills (word processing and email); leading, developing and delegating volunteers; communication.  

  • Must be a passionate follower of Jesus that seeks to honor God in everything they do. 

  • Must pass background check.
