YOUTH MINISTRY DIRECTOR

JOB OVERVIEW

The Youth Ministry Director is the department head of the student ministry at Mountain View. They will work closely with volunteers and families to nurture and promote a welcoming, friendly, fun, Biblically-based and gospel-rich environment for middle & high school students. The Youth Ministry Director should be a servant leader who loves teens and is committed to evangelizing and discipling teens, equipping them for ministry, and raising up other servant leaders to make disciples of Jesus Christ. The Youth Ministry Director should be onboard with Mountain View's mission to glorify God by building lives committed to Jesus. This position is open to both men and women.

Pay -- $14,250/year

MINISTRY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee, grow, and coordinate Mountain View's Youth Ministry

  • Recruit, train, serve, supervise, and celebrate volunteers for weekly ministry and annual youth events.

  • Provide two youth meetings per week

    • Ensure each meeting is properly staffed with volunteers as necessary. â€‹

    • Must provide Biblical teaching that promotes spiritual growth

      • Teaching may come from curriculum or self-creation. ​

    • Provide Worship

  • Interact with MVBC students during Sunday services and interact with make guest students and their families and ensure their awareness of Mountain View's Youth Ministry. 

  • Work cooperatively with all staff and ministry leaders to promote unity and cohesion that aligns with Mountain View’s overall vision and values.

    • Attend staff meetings.

    • Seek ways that the youth ministry can work in cohesion with larger church events and goals.  

    • Make sure church website youth information is relevant and up to date

  • Put on a monthly event.

    • Fellowship Events 

    • Retreats

    • Service Projects

  • Administrate and lead the students to a summer camp

    • Look for ways to raise money for summer camp 

  • Provide opportunities for students to be directly involved in missions and ministry.

  • Pray regularly for students in the church and community

  • Model a Christ-like lifestyle

  • Develop positive relationships with students and their parents

  • Communicate with staff, parents, volunteers, and students about the activities of the Youth Ministry.

    • Provide a youth ministry calendar for students, parents, and volunteers.​

    • Communicate via text blasts using Text in Church system

  • Plan, propose, and implement an annual budget for the youth ministry 

  • Provide Youth Ministry administration in Planning Center Online

    • Update youth profiles​

    • Create events via PCO Registrations

    • Keep church calendar up to date with youth happenings

  • Create and maintain a student friendly environment in Mountain View's Youth Building

  • Promote an atmosphere of safety, unity, and Christ-likeness

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION

  • Must be a follower of Jesus Christ

  • Education level - High School Diploma.

    • There are opportunities for further professional growth through conferences, association and statewide training, etc. 

  • Experience - at least two years of working with middle and/or high school students in either a volunteer or professional capacity. 

  • Must be able to manage time properly and meet deadlines

  • Must believe in the Baptist Faith & Message (2000). 

  • Must pass background check.
